Express your support of the African Light Source Project.

If you or your organisation would like to affirm your support of the African Light Source project, you may write to the AfLS Foundation with a text like the one below, which you may also expand upon.

To the African Light Source Foundation

I , <Name, Institution, Address> / The <Organisation, Address> would like to see an Advanced Light Source on the continent of Africa. I/We believe that Africa needs its own Advanced Light Source, with associated Science and Innovation business park, and together with improved local and regional research facilities, as well as a strong scientific, engineering, technological and business User Base, which is highly trained to take advantage of all the social economic benefits. I / We fully support the work of the African Light Source Foundation.

Sincerely
<Name, Affiliation>

You are invited to be a donor for the African Light Source

The Donations may be made for the following purposes:

  1. Travel and Subsistence for Students and Early Career African Scientists for training and working visits to synchrotrons. These donations are in units of €10k.
  2. Travel and Subsistence for Students and Early Career African Scientists for Conferences and Schools associated with capacity building and network building in relation to research at light sources. These donations are in units of €10k.
  3. Travel and Subsistence for Senior African Light Source Steering Committee officers to participate in important African Continental and International Meetings of a Political or Policy Making significance. These donations are in units of €10k.
  4. Contributions to Equipment to be deployed as Local or Regional Infrastructure. In order to participate, please contact Prof Simon Connell (AfLS Steering Committee Chair).
